UP Town Center's Ihop and Highlands Coffee and other resto...

I got to say it, the newest place in town is UP TOWN CENTER!!!
From their FB
A few nights ago, I received an invite from a college buddy saying that we should meet up in UP TC. Without any hesitation I said yes. Why? The fact that the place is only 7-8 minutes away from my house and that we usually meet down south (read: moa, cavite, moa!!!), this is definitely a welcomed change of pace. LOL! Ang layo at ang trapik kaya going to MOA and Cavite LOL!.

The place isn't that big, mind you, and you could actually go around it in less than 5 minutes. I believe that they plan to make other buildings at the back to further make use of the space and get some more stores in there. So far only less than 1/4 of the place is built.

Enough about the place. We came there for the food.
Since most of my friends haven't tried IHOP (click), we went there for a bite.

Even if I was the closest to UP Town Center, I was the last to arrive. LOL! I got in just when they were about to sit down.

I totally miss these guys because its been so long.
C thinking about what D is doing...

Especially my cousin D (not really but we have the same surname)...! LOL!
The place isn't huge. I believe around 70 could fit inside while they have a few tables outside.
As usual, they offer different kinds of syrups for your pancakes and what not.

I got to commend the staff because food delivery was fast and the service was okay. After 10 minutes of waiting, our food got their way to our table.

Sadly, one of our plates had an unwanted visitor.
See the pic bellow? It was blurry for a reason. It had a creepy crawler!
There was a spider chilling on the toast! Grabe tong Split Decision.. IKR! OMG!
We called their attention and got it changed asap. I guess we could have demanded that they exclude it from our bill but it stayed there. LOLs!

We also got their omelets. Actually 2 of them.
The first one was bacon based. As you can see, their bacon needs a little more umphing! Parang pagod sila na nasunog sa gilid gilid pero soggy at malambot na makunat. Hmmmm.I would have wanted bacon to be more definite. Either it is soft and soggy or crunchy but it can't be in between.

The other one was a little more "health conscious".
According to D, the broccoli was overcooked. Sad! As what she said, they should have dipped them in iced water after to retain their crunchy texture. Ayun soggy ng bongga.

My friend C got their cheese steak sandwich. According to him, it was okay.
B wanted to try everything so got this breakfast sampler. In fairness parang lumalaki kahit papano ung sausage links nila.
I, on the other hand, wanted to just get some hash browns. Our server suggested to give it a little more dimension.
So, I had mine with some hollandaise sauce, bacon, tomatoes and eggs.
It was more of an eggs benedict but instead of bread it was on hash. I liked it but as with all IHOPS.. Too oily!

For side orders.. my friends got their pancakes upgraded.
It would be nice to note that their strawberries were huge and didn't looked like it came from the freezer.
Cinnamon based pancake.

My order also came with a choice of pancakes but I didn't like theirs the first time so I just had toasts.
In fairness mas nagustuhan ko ung toasts kaysa sa pancakes. LOL!

Most of us couldn't finish everything so we had them wrapped up.
One thing we noted was that the food was nakakaumay and too oily. The pancakes weren't really that great either. Maybe next time if you are planning to go to IHOP, just order their other meals rather than pancakes. LOL! Budget around 500-600Php.
The gang.. nawawala sina J at si C.

Afterwards, we roamed around. Since kasama namin mga girls... GEEZ!!!, it became a bros night out.
G, C and I went around the place and let the girls bond. LOL! Actually, we left them standing around while we got to see the place. (OP kaming mga boys!!)
Its great that the place is a food heaven. One could literally do a food trip here. I believe there are only 2 apparel stores (cotton on and aeropostale) while the rest are all restos (aside from family mart)!

There's 8 cuts burger blends (same guys from burger bar). Boon Tong Kee is a SG resto. Casa Verde from Cebu is also here with their ribs. Ginza Bairin (click) is now open with their katsudon, gyoza and unagi katsu. Ba Noi is now serving their mean Vietnamese Cuisine.

J CO is already open and thankfully the line isn't like the one in Tinoma or Sm North. I also got to try Steveston Pizza and would do a post on it later. What I am really waiting for is another Borough. They plan to have one in the future (another 24hour joint closer to home.. hello milk and cookies and cocktails and more yum yum stuff!).

After going around, the girls finally saw us standing near the front entrance, they went on over and voted on where to go next. BAM!! They went on over to Vanilla Cupcakes. Us guys, being op (that's out of place for you !), just went somewhere else to get hot drinks.

There wasn't any Starbucks but rather they had Highlands Coffee.
It was something different from other coffee places because its a Vietnamese coffee shop. They specialize in
drip filters and even offered Bánh mì and croughnuts. Since we were still full, we just ordered drinks. I didn't want a hot one so I just went with an iced caramel macchiato.
For the price, it was sulit. The flavor just right.
Yes it was iced but they added some foam to it. I guess I'm a little bit sanay to SB's version.

Here are the drinks they offer:
Even after all the coffee and the guy talk we had, the girls were still in Vanilla Cupcake. Thankfully, it was close to midnight so after a picture or two, we all went our separate ways. Whew!
It was nice to meet old friends (from left to right C, D, G, ME, B (small girl in front of me), C (guy to the right of me), M and ate C!!!) and meet a new one!!! Hahahaha Nice to meet my "new bestfriend" Mayelle (am I saying your nickname right? LOL!).. Enjoy enjoy LOL!
Me doing the look..... B naman kasi .. parang di Iphone ang gamit...di marunung mag pic! LOL!

ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY :D

Marina's Breakfast Buffet in MOA

After the Rexona Run, one of my friends suggested we go to Marina. They offer a breakfast buffet for only 169Php. It included drinks and had a decent spread. So what the heck we tried it out.
When we got there past 7:20am, the place wasn't ready. The tables were all messed up and there were trash all over the place. Even if it was supposedly open at 7am, they were definitely not game. A few tables were already occupied so we still went and tried them out. After a few more minutes of waiting, they finally got their act together and prepared everything.

The price included juice and coffee. The juices were generic.

We noticed that the
the spread wasn't a lot compared to Something Fishy (click).
 Passable bite sized pancakes.
I don't know why they offer lettuce when they only got mayo for dressing. Weird.
So here are our plates:
R said "masmagaling pa ata ako magluto sa kanila ah... " (that is saying a lot)
A said "di masarap"

I got to agree with them. The food was under par. It wasn't even mediocre.
The hotdog is not hotdog. The pancit was bland. They even served sardines straight from the can. The spring rolls were full of extenders. The juice was too sweet but didn't taste like the fruits they represent. Anyare?
So after a plate each, we left and didn't even get additional plates. I must insist that they pull their act together. As a friendly advice to them, I suggest they invest in improving their culinary skills and allow their servers to be retrained so that they can better serve the customers.I hope they improve.

Burger burger I need one stat! Don't you ever crave for one when you least expect it?
Thankfully, a new burger place opened up in UP Town Center.
After visiting my brother in the cemetery (miss you bro), my dad was hungry. I suggested we try something different.   Since he hasn't been to UP Town Center, we made our way to it.
I suggested we try out a new burger place that recently opened up.

When we entered the place, it seemed that we traveled to an old school diner that exudes a chillax ambiance.

On the right, you could see the open kitchen where they grill all that burger goodness!
And yes, you can see your burgers being prepared.
Thankfully, the exhaust was working great that we didn't really smell smokey after.

Neon lights were also present to give that 70's vibe.
On the left side, you get to see their explanation on the wall.
When we were seated, we were given their menu. It was like a magazine that I wanted to take one home. LOL! It was very educational too! LOL!

I usually put the menu at the end of every post but I will make an exception this time.
Their explanation of what they do.
The usual burgers... Better go to the next page.
 Different kinds of beef!!!
These are their best sellers! I got to say that they deliver on what they say.
Okay we went shaker box LOL!
and yes you can make your own.
Just in case you want something else, you could actually upgrade your sides or pimp your fries.
They also offer the sweet things in life!
See the drink list? Pwedeeee :D :D :D
The back cover teaches us everything we need from a cow.
Anyway, enough with all that... Let's start the eating LOL!

Okay fine, I mean drinking.  (damn liquor ban!!)
My bro got their Speculoos Shake.
While I had a strawberry flavored one.
The milkshakes were flavorful and rich. Creamy is something great especially when you are about to eat something as juicy and succulent as the burgers they serve here.

For appetizers...

We started off with some artichoke and spinach (285Php).
The dip was light and a bit dry for me. I miss CPK's version :D :D :D
 But it is good enough.

Then, our burgers arrived.

 I had the Q- daddy (385Php-double patty).
It is a quarter pounder (and I had a double patty at that!) of ox blend patty of flank, oxtail, and rib eye with yellow cheddar, onion tanglers, CRISPY! bacon, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno ranch and sweety spiced BBQ sauce on sesame bun.
At first look, I thought my burger was small. BUT BOY was I wrong! The meat was all packed in and GRABE was it juicy!!!! OMG! sawap!!

My mom had the  four cheese (345 Php for double patty)
It was a parmesan crusted beef bomb blend, patty of chuck and short rib, yellow cheddar, aged gruyere, mozzarella, arugula, garlic aioli on a sesame bun.
The cheese combination was flavorful and ohhh so yummy!

Dad had the piggy (345PHP)! I guess the name says it all. Having the beef bomb blend, it was all meat and juice.
Judging from my dad's reaction, he didn't share his burger from us. ARGH! LOL! He enjoyed it tremendously.

My bro got the rising shroom (375Php for double patty).
Since my brother loves steak, he got one with the steak cut blend.
One bite and he exclaimed that it tasted like mushrooms! He loved it.

For our sides, we got them upgraded.
Sub-atomic bacon and cheese fries. Not too hot and is just right.
Truffle parmesan. The truffle made it all!
The chili and cheese.

Everything made me this>
ketcup and mustard smiley face on all the juice the burgers had

Even if the place is only on soft opening, the service was excellent. The wait staff were attentive.
The pricing is a little bit on the high side but I guess you get what you pay for. Thankfully, we went on the last day they were having a deal. So, we got 2 free burgers from the 4 we ordered. Lucky right?
I guess you could budget around 400-500/ person.

It would have been nice if I was able to try their cocktails or beer but arrrgh the liquor ban! Ow well.. SAD :( hehehe.

After our swim (click), we were a bit hungry. Since most of us (read: them) didn't want to go out just to eat, we tried out the food in the building itself.
We were led to Ace Coffee Cafe.

In case you didn't know, the upper levels of the building is a hotel that caters mostly to visitors of Ace Water Spa. Thinking about our tummies, we went straight to the first resto we saw.
So after changing, off we go to eat our lunch.

Since we had a long table, I wasn't really able to take great pics nor was I able to take note of what every one ordered.  For this occasion, please forgive me.
(Kasi kasi kasi nag away away muna kami dahil gutom. Di muna bati)

I believe most of my friends got set meals because they had drinks and even salad with them.

Anwyay, these are the things we got.
The chop wasn't dry and was actually tasty.
Ms R said that the beef tenderloin skillet needed a bit more salt. I guess it was a bit bland for her. I, on the other hand, was okay with the flavor. LOL!
I liked the conrdon bleu because it wasn't dry nor was it over cooked.
The burger steak was just as juicy and tasty.
The burritos and quesadilla had the same outer layer so I guess we made a boo boo in ordering both of them because they tasted the same.

It was more of a lunch place than a coffee lounge. The food was competitively price. Quality wise, it was at par with other restos. There are a lot of choices and I didn't have anything to complain about LOL! The service was quick and customer oriented. If in case we get to go back to ACE WATER SPA, I would definitely suggest taking a snack or a meal here again. Budget around 400 Php per person.

Maybe next time, we could get out of the building and see the different restos around. Also, its a stone throw away from Kapitolyo so I guess we could also go there for lunch.

Don't you hate it when you stayed at home and your family goes out and eats at nice restos!

Such a time happened to me. Yeah just last week. They said that they're just going to the dentist. Behold when they got back after 3 hours, they already ate pizza.

Not just any pizza but STEVESTON pizza. Originally from Canada, this pizza spells luxury all over. If i am not mistaken, they offered the most expensive pizza in the world worth around 20,000 PHP.

In the local market, the most expensive pizza they have is priced at 1,300 Php.  The C1 and

The C2.

Thankfully, they got me just that.

Okay fine, they had an extra slice of the Canadian for me to taste but what the heck it was the C2 that made me drool all over.

It has a looooot of prosciutto, brie, semi-dried roma tomatoes and a dallop of roasted garlic mousse.
This is definitely the pizza to look up too.

The pizza they serve isn't oily nor do they skimp on ingredients. The quantity and the quality is just amazing.
I, without a doubt, would go to this pizza place if and when I would have cravings. ANG SARAP kasi eh.. Not too oily din (did I mention that already?). Maybe next time, I will try the C1 which is more seafoods or maybe a margarite which could really hit the spot!

Although pricey, definitely worth it. Budget around 800-1300 per pizza. Don't worry one box is good for 2-3 hungry persons.

Steveston Pizza is located in the ground floor of UP Town Center.

Market Cafe's Sunday Brunch : Awesomeness!

$

My mom just turned a year older around a week ago. Yey!!!
So last Sunday, we went to Hyatt to chill and to enjoy their brunch buffet in
Great thing too because it was halloween season.

 BOO!
My family and I were a bit early so I got a chance to walk around the buffet when they were fixing everything and scout.

The place isn't that big. It sort of gives the no frills vibe and straight up great food.

The front area shows the dessert
which includes:

These cute scary treats!
fingers!
 mouths!
pumpkins and candies
and yes I got a crepe made.
and this I enjoyed!
and more sweet stuff.
Yes I know, I love sweets so I started there. LOL!

For appetizers, they served cheese and a few bread choices and some nuts...

which ended up like this on my plate..
and this.
Yeah, you could make a salad too.
But, I didn't go there to make one. LOL So I skipped.

They also offer fresh seafood.
You can have them cooked any way you want.
Like some oyster with cheese.
The best part of the buffet is their grilling area.
you can have them cooked here.
Also, they got these:
paella negra and the prime rib.
The rib is awesome!

My plate looked like this:
I was actually tempted to just show you this.
or this
but that would be lying. LOL!

Moving to another area, there was a tepanyaki station where you can have whatever cooked.
and also a station to make those Chinese Noodles
 like this one.
They also make some mean Japanese food like:
Fresh tempura
and Sushi
They could also cook your pasta
but has a readily available one.

 EPIC .. Just Epic!
Vikings and other buffet places are definitely bigger and cheaper but it can't compare to this. The selections and the quantity here pales in comparison with other buffet places but they sure focus on the quality. The freshness of the food they serve is at par with great restaurants and is top-notch.
The service is excellent and we felt well received. The chefs manning the stations and the staff serving the tables were all courteous and goes above and beyond what is required of them.

Aside from the complimentary unlimited soda and local beer, they also serve coffee and tea which my family took advantage off. We enjoyed the place even if it wasn't as diverse as Spirals or as elegant as Manila Hotel's Cafe Ilang-Ilang. We will definitely go back not for the setting or the number of viands but for the taste and the awesomeness off everything!!!
(I am actually thinking of going there with some friends just to enjoy everything!KKB!)

Ginza Bairin

I remembered the last time I had Ginza Bairin (click) and it was in Singapore a few months ago.

I had wanted to give it another try after that not so good experience but, going to Makati is really not for me. (if you know me, you know I don't like going there to drive and all...)
Thankfully, it opened a branch in in UP Town Center just a few weeks ago.
Unlike in Sg, where you go to a counter to order and pay first, here it is somewhat a more chill manner and let the staff handle everything for you. Just the way it should be.

The place isn't that big. Around 50 patrons could be accommodated both inside and outside.

The set up is more or less the same with Yabu (click, click and click) and Saboten (click).

They let you grind the sesame seeds and add up their sauce.
They also give you some cabbage to lessen the unhealthyness of all the fried goodness they serve.

For starters, we had their potato croquettes.
Reminds me of potato balls of tokyo tokyo past. These are huge and mushy inside but crunchy outside. I was actually looking for something to dip this in as no sauce was served. I just used their katsu sauce in lieu of one specially made for this dish. Maybe next time they could develop a special sauce.
Something like tartar but better.

Another awesome starter is their gyoza.
Their take on this classic is that they make it more chewy but not to a point that it gets hard to eat.
The fillings were full of greens and tasted fresh.

Since there was a lot of us, I wasn't able to take a photo of everything ordered but here are the mains:
Chicken katsu for kuya. Needless to say, he finished everything and asked for a 2nd helping of cabbage.

 Mom had their katsu curry.
She just tasted it and gave it all to me. I guess she didn't like going curry. You can choose its spice level from regular to hot.
The meat is soft and tender. Not like the kurobuta I had in their SG's restaurant. The sauce is thick and juicy. It had a few cuts of potatoes and carrots that absorbed the curry flavor.

My brother had their special katsudon.
Getting ready for a cholesterol overload, this would be the dish for you. I believe this is one of their specialty (the other being the unagi katsu.. next time next time..). One egg on top, which was super runny. Another one fried up to coat the meat. The sauce was delightful.

Kunyare diet ako...so I got their "sandwich katsu".
The bread was soft and easily melts in your mouth. The katsu inside had their sweet sauce which made this a treat to eat.
I could easily picture myself getting this for a light snack.

Generally, I enjoyed my food experience here compared to SG. The service was a little rough at the start of our meal but I did feel they tried to make up for it. (I'm snotty when it comes to the little details...like asking twice for something... LOL). The price is very competitive. They offer the same refillables and make rounds to make sure everything is complete.

It was actually fun seeing and accidentally bumping into my cousins and the bf of my younger cuz. It was nice to eat Sunday dinner with you guys.
di naman nag usap usap na magkita sa UP Town Center  LOL!

Torch: Hot in 'Ere

After doing some errands, I had a quick meal in Torch.
I had been wanting to go to their 1st branch in Greenhills but just couldn't push myself to go there without a date. Thankfully today, I have one. My mom!

I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and I guess it would be lovely for me to try it out too.

Once we got there, the staff entertained us and gave everything we want. I can't help but notice the lively  theme and the color that were used for this restaurant. I love the light bulb idea. Simple.
Since we went there for a quick snack, we only ordered a few items.

For drinks, I had this.
This is their take on beer tail mango daiquiri. I was impressed! The Manila Beer they used complimented the mango flavor. It wasn't too hard and the kick was slow and not upfront. Plus, you get to limit the quantity of beer going in the drink. So during a drinking session, this baby could be great for your girlfriend who doesn't drink. Heck, I drink and I adore it and they should too!
(Yes its a bit expensive but the mug is huge and it would last you all night long!!!!)

For snacks, we ordered their pizza
Since we couldn't decide, we had it half and half. We had their Philly Cheese Steak and margherita.
I liked the margherita more. The flavor was straight and upfront. The cheese steak, on the other hand, was a little underwhelming. I would have expected to have a cheesssssy version but I could only taste a hint of cheese. The dough was simple and flat. Actually, the thickness of the pizza is more or less than a centimeter (I hope I got my measurements right..LOL Math).
and cream cheese salmon roll.
The salmon roll was huge and had a fried outer layer.
The bonito flakes did an excellent job complementing the salmon. The fried outer layer wasn't too oily and didn't smell or taste of old oil. Bravo Torch!
I would have wanted some more cream cheese but it didn't matter since the sauce made up for it.
The left is mayo based. I think its Japanese mayo. The other one is a sweet teriyaki like sauce.
The food choices were abundant. From pizza to pasta to makis to burgers and even an all day breakfast menu, it was complete. They even have a decent bar list. The service was excellent and straight forward. All our requests were granted and everything was fine. Budget around 400-500 per person. Will definitely be back with friends for a nice drink.

Since there was a halloween party in the office...

I couldn't help it but I got to post these pics up LOL!:
You know that seeing Iron Man during a Halloween party is just awesome!
Plus, when Scream does a selfie you got to have a copy of it. LOL!

Cowrie Grill by Manila Hotel: One Mooooo of a Time

A week or so ago, I was invited to Manila Hotel's Cowrie Grill launch.
I asked myself the question everyone in my age group would.... "ano yung cowrie?"

Before saying yes, I had to check it out. To a dictionary (or wikipedia for us younger folks) cowrie is describe as sea snails or to put it plainly cool looking sea shells. According to old timers, cowrie grill was one, if not the only, go to place for a fancy table side and steak service during the old days.

Sadly, a few years ago they had to close down cowrie grill in Manila Hotel for Cafe Ilang Ilang's renovation...

Good News for us "young kids" because we could now experience it just like our older family members. LOL

Once you enter the place, everything shouts luxury at its finest.
Comfy chairs, bag stools, private booths, and a nice cozy bar area. Awesome for the customers that wants privacy and intimacy.
Awesome set up they got here.
Location wise, the place is very strategic. Located in a mall but could be easily accessed from the outside world. It has parking available right in front of it.

When I got there, I was surprised to see a lot of people around.
It was quite amazing to be able to see media people and other established bloggers. The dining area was pretty much jam packed! I was lucky enough to arrive early and get seated. The first guy that actually greeted me was Sir Gerry of dude for food (cool friendly guy! Just kept on calling me RJ). Ma'am Yedy of Yedylicious (mano po!) came in next; Sir Richard from Tales from the Tummy (lives in the middle of foodie land! lucky!) joined us in the table along with Eugene of Hefty Foodie (silent photog guy :) ), and last but not the least Jill of the Food Scout (she got caught up in traffic.. her office was literally miles away and with the rain and all!LOL! Peace!),. They are a fun bunch to eat and chat with. Even if most of them are older than me (evil! LOL), I can sense their kind hearts and them being kids in their own little way!!! Definitely cool guys that share a passion towards great food!!Their insights on food are definitely welcomed!!
No wonder a lot of people follow their blogs and I for one enjoy reading them!

Anyway on to the food :)
Since I was a bit early, I was served some bread and some butter.
The butter wasn't just any butter...
Loved the herb butter more than the sun dried tomato.. :D

After everyone got settled in, we were served some soup.
The fresh mushroom cappuccino (250Php) was flavorful and a nice way to whet your appetite. The feel of it was that it wasn't too creamy that you might get full right there and then and watery that you would gulp everything in one sip. Unlike other restaurants that dab truffle oil on top, I believe the truffle taste was properly infused and mixed in that only a hint of it is present.

 Afterwards, salad was served.
Not like any other way, but rather it is done table side. Everything was prepared right in front of your eyes.
What can you expect if everything is fresh and done right in front of you? The Maitre'd Caesar Salad (290Php) tastes like what any Caesar Salad should be. The crouton was crunchy and the greens were fresh. Classic fav!

On to the main course!
The prime rib was presented right in front of us. The staff gladly cut some mean slice all for us. One by one, we could definitely feel the intensity in the air as we wait for something like this!!
Roast US Angus Prime Rib Beef Prime Rib (PHP 1,400-English Cut 10oz; PHP 1,800 NY Cut 14oz )
Served with potato gratin, something as luxurious as this is definitely always on my mind.
Plain and simple...not overly seasoned..It was soft and juicy! Mouthgasm ensued after.
Even if it didn't need any, it came with 3 kinds of sauce.
For dessert, we got some old school favorite. The Baked Alaska (Php 420) was semi-prepared table side.
The staff prepared some alcohol poured into a ladle and burned just a little bit. Afterwards, they poured it on the dessert and resulted into this.
Even if it was a little too sweet for me, it has different layers of lovely and yummy and tummy bound goodness!
yeah that's ice cream inside.

I would like to thank and congratulate Manila Hotel in returning an old school restaurant. This would give a chance for the new generation of foodies in trying out and experiencing proper table side prepared food. Kudos to Chef Michael Chan and his team for making our visit awesome.

Maybe one thing that they could improve on would be the table arrangement. It was a little tough going around when the aisles are a little thinned out especially during preparation of table side offerings.

OMG! OMG OMG!!!!! I didn't know what to get Michy of I am dekaphobic and Mama Bear of Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice! You see, we were going to meet up for another day of fun filled food eating adventure (more on this on my next posts) and I didn't know what to get them!!!
Great thing, this came into mind!!!
Ever since we had home parties, my go to person for dessert would have to be Tita Tina!! She has a great taste and a knack for creating wonderful sugar filled desserts.
My mom would usually ask tita for some dessert and we would have a great time enjoying them with a cup of coffee or tea.

In this instance, I got Tita's cupcakes (although she also got amazing cakes in her arsenal).
Truthfully speaking, I don't like cupcakes because most of the ones I get in the market are dry and aren't that well taken cared off. I mean they just leave it aside and it gets real dry fast! Promise! But for Taza Platito, this is definitely an exemption.

I love her cupcakes. They are uber duper super and really moist! Honestly, PROMISE! Believe me.. they are super moist! I can't stress it enough. Of course I had to try it too right???
See?? Ayaw mo pa maniwala sa ganyan??? MOIST nga eh MOIST!!! (to think I ate it a day after I got them!!!)
I got a box each for Michy and Mama Bear. Both have 6 yema topped cupcakes and 6 super duper choco cupcakes.

Tita won't tell us the secret as to how she makes them but believe me if you are looking for something to give away this Christmas Season, why not check them out and give them a call. Would Suggest you do it early because she gets swamped with orders from corporate giveaways to parties.

IMBISS: Drinking it up with I am Dekaphobic and Sugar and Spice

Yahoooo!!! The day came!!! Ms. Michy of I am dekaphobic and Mama Bear of Sugar Spice and Everything Nice and I were going to meet up!
If you aren't aware, both Michy and I come from the north side while Mama Bear is from the south of the metro. Since Michy hasn't been to the south in a long time and Mama bear has a hectic schedule, we decided to meet there. A bit of planning was needed to get everything together. Grabe Mama bear is a great planner and gracious host! She planned everything! From what will happen to where to go next. She even did so even if the day we were going to meet was part of Jana's Birthday Week! Grabe.. So speechless~! What's more was that because of unforeseen events, we were an hour late. Nyahahahaha! Sorry about that!!Ubo Ubo Ubo!!
Anyway after meeting up in Molito, we went all the way to BF Paranaque. It was actually my first time going there and was pleasantly surprised with all the food establishments lined up in the area. It reminded me of Maginhawa Street in Quezon City.

After a few more minutes, we arrived in our 1st stop.
Imbiss Manila.
I honestly didn't know what to expect from the restaurant.
Huuuwaaaaat? Do your homework Jeng! ...So what is Imbiss? In German, it means snacks.
Usually these are food stand or stalls that offer local food.
Imbiss Manila is a German inspired place that actually serves great food with awesome drinks.

Since its a German themed resto, one would look for what they are famous for.
Beer!!!
Of course not just any beer. But imported ones coming from that corner of the world!
Stella Artois is from Belgium while Paulaner comes from Munich and is one of the 6 breweries who provide beer for Oktoberfest since 1810 (source: wikipedia).
Really different from the local beer that we are accustomed to. Rich in flavor and almost different in taste.

Mama Bear wanted to feed us to a pulp! Totally! So, she ordered a lot ! Yes!! A lot! LOL!
For starters, we had these:
Loaded potato skins (255Php). Laglagan mode on: Michy couldn't help herself and made a killing with these. LOL! It reminded me of the ones served by Yellow Cab. Bacon, cheese and home made sour cream. Yummy!
Angus Salpicao (355Php). Although it lacks the garlic flavor, the cubes are uber soft.
They really do melt in your mouth.
Spicy chicken wings (235Php). Packs a kick at its tail end.

For mains we got these:
Pork and Chicken Schnitzel (325Php). Served with either fries, mashed potato, rice pilaf or just plain rice.

Another order we got was the Eggs Benedict and sausage (255Php)

For dessert:

Sizzling double dark chocolate brownie was served.
This was a real treat. It wasn't on the menu and I guess its a store secret!!! Michy actually tried to "hide" it from me! I mean, she wouldn't move the plate towards my end of the table! LOL! Epic Epic.
Reminds me of hot molten chocolate with a touch of crunchy texture and a cold upper surface because of the ice cream!

Since it was Jana's Birthday week, we greeted her with a Birthday Song!!!
Her younger sister, Jena, giving Ate a bear hug!!!

Here's the group picture!
From L-R: Jena, Jana (the 2 birthday girls!!), me, Michelle of Jamfoods (epic epic products.. more on a later post... BTW she is also the wife of Chef John who is a consultant at this restaurant among many others), Mama Bear and Michy.

Definitely a great experience. The food was okay and the service was spot on. They even had a buzzer at every table if you needed something. More than the food and the service, I guess it was the company that made this visit epic. Grabe!!!! Kwentuhan and chikahan plus kulitan.. Kami na dalawa ni Michy ang nadale. Nyahahaha Kami na! LOL!

A lot of things ensued after and I will be posting them up next.. Enjoy!

Marky's chicken

After filling ourselves up at Imbiss (click), we went to one of Mama Bear's readers.
The owner of Marky's Chicken

OMG would you believe that she is already 30 and a mother of 3? Waaaaa!! Okay diet mode on! (joke!)

She welcomed us into her own home and served her delicious treats!

My personal favorite would be the soy chicken (50Php/piece).
It was yummy and crunchy. The skin is definitely a turn on!I love the flavor and the way it was different from other players in the market.

But if you are up for original deep fried chicken, the original (45Php) would be for you.
It was moist and crunchy and goes well with the gravy!

Marky's chicken is something that caters to the budget of the everyday Filipino!! Would you believe that a meal would cost around 40-50 Php only! Super duper affordable! I love it! I got to say for the quality and the taste super sulit siya! Believe it or not, their products are finalist in  Solane Next Big Food Entrepreneur Challenge 2013 (as seen here click)

After tasting everything and having a few chitchat, we all had our pictures taken.
Pwedeng pwedeng product endorser!

Thank you very much for inviting us to your lovely home! We enjoyed the chicken as much as we enjoyed your company!!

Globe Experience... Why I am so disappointed with ther Iphone 5S launch and customer service

Taking a break from my food posts.....

Ring Ring Ring...
From Globe telecom

Me: Hello?
Globe Loyalty Team: Hi sir! This is Wendy from Globe. Would you like to avail of an Iphone5s?
Me: Oh yeah...you got it right this November 15? Tell me more.

Ding Ding Ding! The mistakes of being influenced by advertisement... LOL!

Recently, the 2 big telcos have officially released the Iphone 5s/5c here in Manila. On November 15, 2013, these phones were officially made available to the market.

Here is an account of what happened to me.

A loyalty awards personnel from Globe has contacted me to ask if I want a new Iphone 5s.
She offered to recontract my plan to 24 months and to cut off the remaining month or so of my original plan for free.

Bottom line: I said yes.

Time to iron out the nitty gritty details:

When and where am I going to get my phone?
On November 15 at a branch of your choice.

What model? Iphone 5s 32GB Gold.
Yes sir! We got that on stock and is available

So how much am I paying?
SAME monthly fee of 1799 Php, just that you have to cash out around 14,800++Php for the phone.

ME: okay. Are you sure it is going to be available on Nov 15? I don't want to waste my time and I am in no hurry to get a new phone

Yes sir!!Here is your reference number and I will be emailing you something...

After ironing out the details and taking note of the reference numbers and what not.

from imore.com

I had a few more questions on the day of release. So at around 6:30am while driving, I called their customer service to clarify some aspects of the deal.

Me: Can I be connected to your loyalty or rewards team.
Customer Service: Sorry Sir but they are only available during 8am to 10pm; how can I help you?
Me: Oh okay nevermind then, can you please check if my phone for pick up is ready today?
CS: Yes sir, it is ready and I believe you have the requirements ready and reference number so everything is okay.
Me: I will just fix my concerns with the guys at the store itself later. Thank you!

Too good to be true right?
YES IT WAS!!!

Logo is from Globe.
At around 11am, I went on over to SM North Edsa Annex Globe Branch.  Lined up like anyone would do at the line for the people with current accounts with globe. Even if their line for new subscribers were nata... meaning WALANG NAKA PILA!
(Their staff was actually asking people to go inside and checkout the new IPHONE.. kasi nga walang tao sa new subscribers!)

Waited and waited and waited and waited and when I got on over to the front.

A haggard lady asked me for my reservation number and what not. I showed her the number and informed me in a very sarcastic way.

Paumanhin po sir... Wala po kayo sa listahan.. ACTUALLY MADAMI NA PONG NGYARING GANYAN KANINA. sorry po.

and she showed us the way out by saying.. NEXT!

from whosshoes.wordpress.com
To think, it was only 11am and this happen. I didn't want to make a scene and dress down the lady right there and then so I went out and called their customer service.

ME: Hi; can you clarify if I do indeed have a phone to pick up from SM North Edsa Annex
CS: Yes sir you do. According to our system, you have reserved a 32 GB gold Iphone5s and it should be there

Me: Eh anyare? pina alis ako at sabi wala. Can you coordinate with them and call them up
CS: Sorry sir, but all I can do is escalate.

Me: Okay... so you wasted my time, money, and effort in going here. Give me options and a plan to work this out.
CS: Let me put you on hold ...(after a lifetime).... Sir, you can go to GLOBE Headquarters in the FORT so you can pick up your set.

ME: Are you serious? Do you have any guarantees that if I go there I would be accommodated and be given a phone. Furthermore, it was you guys that wanted me to go today and get the phone. It wasn't me who initiated this. You could have informed me if it wasn't ready and it would be fine, but now you have wasted my time. So here is what we are going to do... give me a plan and options on to what to do within the day. If not I would terminate my line with you guys because of the service you guys do. I will not lift up a finger anymore with dealing with you guys.

At around 6pm: 4 missed calls. (take note of this)

At around 8pm, I called their hotline. Inquiring about the situation.

CS: Sorry sir, but I do not have any information regarding that. Usually escalations are taken cared off within 24 hours.

 NEXT DAY

At 10 am there was still no call regarding what their plan is nor what they would do.

So I called... placed on hold

I was connected to Ms. Young from Customer Service and after a lengthy discussion and informing her of what transpired, she eventually told me that she can't do anything but transfer me to the recontracting/ loyalty team since they are the once offered me the deal in the first place.

I was transferred to Lydia of the recontracting team and after another long dressed down and retelling of information. I eventually learned that they can't do anything about it but escalate and ask WENDY, the person that processed everything to redo it and fix the problem since she was the one that initiated it.

ME: Seeing that no plan nor option was given that is acceptable nor amenable. (it was either, wait for another week or two for the phone and pick it up from their branch... ano ako pipila ulit? or have it cancelled....) I asked to be connected to the staff that terminate contracts.

I was then transferred to a Tess Salvador. I told her I want to terminate my line. After giving proof and everything, she asked why I wanted to do so, I retold my story again and actually found certain things out.

I imagine myself doing this.. but believe it or not.. mahinahon mode ako...   From thesmartvan.com

There was no escalation from the previous day and it wasn't in the records.
It was noted that at 6pm, I was contacted and gave them information that i am willing to give them more time in dealing with this.

(as to which I wasn't because it was all missed calls. GROUNDS for Perjury if you ask me)
I needed to pay them around 4180++php in fees for the termination or I can transfer the account to someone else.

(I told them, I am willing to pay that amount as long as they pay me first for wasting my time and effort and they get it from my house because I would not waste my time in transacting with them.)

This was already around 12:12pm because I asked Ms. Tess for the time and if the call was being recorded. I told her that in case this would be brought to court, this would serve as evidence.
From quickmeme.com
I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, a Ms. Barbie Sanchez, because of UNETHICAL business operations.

I talked to her, and informed her again, of what happened. I asked of her plans and asked her of options.

She informed me that:

Yes it was 6pm the day before that notations were places in my account. (take note, I didn't talk to anyone at 6pm)

From the loyalty side, they did indeed reserve a unit for me to be picked up.
She is currently looking as to what happened and that is waiting for the replies of the different departments.

She suggested that I do not terminate my account first, so that communication and updates on the escalations would be properly and timely addressed.

I, on the other hand no longer feeling well and nursing a sore throat with coughs and colds, informed her that she is telling me to wait some more and it is unacceptable. If you are going for service and you aren't giving it, say bye bye to your business.

I asked her to just update me and I will be going back to bed.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
As of right now, I do not know what is happening and I am waiting for an update. I would update this post, once I get more information and also what I would do about them.

My POV:
If they ask me to go to a branch and pick up a kit, I would tell them to just cancel it because I have already done that and was refused one.I would not line up again and be given the attitude.

I would give them the option of bringing the said kit to my house on the same day and having the transaction done here. I do not wish and no longer want to waste my time, effort and money in transacting with them. They better offer a pretty damn good deal for me to accept it.
Hell Yeah! from socialstrategy1.com

Yes, this may be considered as a rant post but let me ask you this: "What if this happens to you? What would you do?" I am open to any suggestion or what not. Honestly, I am really disappointed. I have been a subscriber of globe since the early 2000 from my prepaid numbers all the way to having this line and this happens to me. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and giving them leeway on this matter. As long as it is amenable to me fine but if they are going to make me work it out again... well sorry. I am not a patient person.

Macho.. Machooonurin daw ako..sabi ni Mama Bear!! OMG!

So off to the spa we go... I honestly didn't know where we are!!! Left right straight and then to a covered new building we go.

When I entered the place, it was as if I was transported to somewhere not there. Once you go inside their spa, you would really feel the WOW and Chill factor. YAY!

Mama Bear really went all out and coordinated everything. We had a Tea Party!!! Well sort of!
While waiting for Mama Bear's pick. I went around the comfy place and took some photos.
Inspirational and comfy pillows all around.

An area for the young kids to relax and chill and believe it or not...kids make their mommies go here because they also have spa treatment themselves and play around!!
and look what I spy with my little cute eyes... for the kids to play with!!!
I got to say, the place isn't that big and could only cater to a few customers at a time but definitely luxurious and a chill place to go to when you are in the south.!!! Better call them up for reservations because they really get full quick...

Mama Bear Quick to the draw... bilis mag pose!!!

And the moment of truth came.. OMG!!!!

1st the stuff they use.
I like how they prepacked the stuff they use. Clean and appropriate. NICE!

Oh and yeah they serve you tea and a little sweet dessert for any service you avail.
Think pedicure? Yeah they make you happy with this small service.
Even the small kid likes it.
So cute right?!?! He is the son of the owners.. quite the handsome guy. Ang kulit kulit kausap.. :D :D :D
He is at that age .. very playful..

Oh and yeah..since Mama Bear opted for a sparty for Michy and I...
The Saint Germain Afternoon Tea Party
This spread was served. Grabe ah.... ang dami :D From Hot tea.. to scones, cupcakes, and macaroons.

Anyway, I had to undergo the treatment... waaaa!! I was treated by 2 staff simultaneously.
Manicure while having my feet in a warm bath. Then, dead skin were being scrapped off my feet.

YES!!! S HAPPENS.. I was squirmish and my face was di mapinta..!!! OMG!
Di ko maintindihan ung feeling. Parang nakikiliti na ewan. LOL! Everyone was laughing at me!! WAAAA naman ow!!!

Anyway, yes I did have a manicure
and had my feet covered with something very foreign looking LOL! Think hot jello!!!
This isn't my foot... guess whose is it!! LOL!!! She is so going to kill me!
I got to say, super duper lambot ng feet ko after!!! Everything was really luxurious and wow!!!

Unfortunately, MB and the kids (omg feeling old na ako?) had to leave Michy and I because they had a dinner with the family. Sayang.. may chika chika moment pa sana !!! Hay.. Maybe next time they could go up north and ill treat and bring them to anywhere they want to go to :D :D :D ...

So of course!! Photo op mode on!!!
From left to right: Jana, Jena, Ms. Gigi (owner), Ms. Jane, Michy, and me!!!

No joke around, everything was a real pampering and an awesome treat! The place maybe small but it really makes it more intimate. The staff are kind and really caring towards the needs of the customers. Ms. Gigi is very hands own and even prepared the food that we ate. GRABE!... I would suggest that you go on by and make yourself happy and release all the stress and take a nap. Sobrang comfy! The only thing that prevented me from taking one was that Michy has a habit of taking pictures of sleeping people around.. kaya NO wayyyyy michy!! Di pwedee ayaw.. wag... wag!!!.. next time next time! LOL!

The packages and rates that they offer are affordable and quite competitive. You get a snack with your treatment diba? Saan ka pa! The materials they use are clean and high end! They cater to everyone in the family so guys and kids... take it from me.. its okay.. you might like it too.. and maybe you will be the one asking the GF or the wife or the mother to get a relaxing spa treat here.... So go go go! :D :D :D
I would like to super duper super duper super thank Mama Bear for her invite and also for the hospitality of Ms. Gigi! It was nice meeting you po! And Mama Bear! Go here na sa North and Ill treat you to different places! :D :D :D

Jam Foods: OMG!>? Where is the rice!?!

When I got back home from my trip down south... I had a small goody bag with me ...
It was Jam Angus Tapa!
Remember when I was with Michy and met with Mama Bear down south?
We went to Imbiss Manila (click) and met up with the kind owner of Jam Angus Tapa.

She, my friend, is Ms. Michelle. She was kind enough of letting us try out their famous products.
Doesn't look much but ow so yummy and omg!
In case you don't know, their products were named the over all winner in Ultimate Taste Test 4.0 (click).

They also offer  US Angus Burgers, US Angus Salpicao, Spicy Angus Tapa, Korean BBQ and of course the US Angus Tapa.

Grabe.... anyway here you go..
1) Thaw beef tapa in chiller/ refrigerator overnight ..
Being tamad guy that I am... I left it to thaw for a few minutes and cooked it up LOL!
2) Heat a non-stick saute pan over medium-high for 2 to 3 minutes (No oil needed)
A non stick pan is essential!!!
3) Add just enough thawed beef tapa to the heated pan. (Do Not over crowd the pan.)
Fine... I might have did just that.. LOL!
4) Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on one side before turning the beef.
They shrink!! BUT it oooh so smell good!!!
5) Then keep the beef moving in the pan until beef turns into a deep brown color on all sides be careful not to burn the beef.
6) remove the beef tapa from the pan and place on plate with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
7) Serve hot!!!! >> definitely a must!

The tapa was flavorful and really soft. The meat absorbed the marinate very well and it was oww so good. I am really drooling while thinking about it!!!... Furthermore, my dad made a comment which he has never done before. "Grabe ang sarap ginanahan akong kumain"... You see he is the health buff of the family and he really don't eat that much but this made him love it. and you know what happens next right? ... ubos ang naluto...!!!!

Totally whack! My brother and mother joined in so there you go... now.. its all gone.. waaaaaa!!!! Next time I drop by down south.. I am so buying some.. :D :D :D

Thank you very much Mama Bear (click)  and Michelle (click) for welcoming Michy (click) and I down south! Seriously! AWESOME!!!!

If ever you guys find yourself up north, give me a call and I will definitely treat you guys out :D :D :D

and that ends the series.. I guess .. but this is just the beginning...

Borough, borough borough... what would I do without you ! ... If you need a place to go to at an awkward time, this is the resto to go to.

It was great to know that this is one of the few places that I love going back to.
Its open 24/7 so no problem on that. Plus if you get there in the middle of the night, you could park directly outside it and there is no parking fee whatsoever.

Dim lights and steady sounds greeted us when we entered the place at around 6 in the morning. We were tired from the night before and wanted to relax and eat just before going home.

Of course, we needed some drinks to help us relax.
a mojito (150Php) and absolute raspberry ambitious (160Php) for my friends...

I, on the other hand, was still driving so a corona or 2 would do (130Php each).

Don't forget to get some lemons in it! Definitely a yummy beer.

We needed some appetizers to start everything off.
some chips and dips (Php 110)... yeah.. bawas na yan :D

After awhile, mac n cheese was present! (320Php)
Totally makes everyone's day yummier!!

I just got a grilled cheese with some t soup (280Php).
I love dipping a big slice of the bread into the soup.
Riker's Island Breakfast.. (Php 230)...
If you like beans, eggs and cheese, this is the dish for you!

Now on to my favorite part of a meal... dessert...

A friend of mine got their cheesecake (210Php).

Of course, never ever ever miss a chance to get their milk and cookies... (220Php)
I so love the cookies!!! Please don't ever ever not order this when you go here.
They are warm and chewy and really good..... and the milk is where you dunk it...

I love everything, especially the company.  Btw, I have news that they are going to open a branch in UP TOWN CENTER... so near!!!! Geeeeez!! Lagot nanaman wallet ko! LOL! :D :D :D ...

Ba Nois: Vietnamese Food in Up Town Center

I never did like Vietnamese Food. I mean, not that I don't really like it. It is just that it doesn't strike me as something I would go and crave for. Unlike burgers, steaks and sushis, for me Vietnamese Cuisine isn't what my taste buds look for.
Don't tell my mom about this pic or she will kill me
Since I had nothing to do on a lazy day, I dragged mom to have a quick lunch in Ba Nois. I was actually intrigued with this restaurant because one of my co workers was raving about their spring rolls.
 Let's see what happens.

When we entered the place, we were greeted by kind staff and great customer service. We were ushered to a booth and was helped in choosing what to eat.
The place is brightly lit with pictures of everything Vietnam.

Anyway, we first ordered some drinks.

I tried their sugar cane with orange. (120Php).
It tasted sweet in a different kind of citrussy way.

Mom had some watermelon shake (110Php)
For starters, we had some fresh rolls. (Goi Cuon 195Php)
It had rice noodles and a slice of "healthy" meat inside.
I love the sauce because it was peanut based. Something like peanut butter but light and not too sweet.
Next up, we got the salad. (Goi Buoi Tom Thit - 195Php)
This pomelo salad didn't have the sweet texture because the fruit they used wasn't riped yet. I liked the sauce used and that we could place them on top of the crackers and let it pop in our mouths.

We also had the Cha Gio (195Php).
This was their spring rolls. It was filled with meat and the nuoc mam dipping sauce was a nice touch to the rolls.

On to the noodles. I tried their Pho Bo (260Php)
It was a hot soup dish that is beef based. I find it a little bland for my taste. Yes...I admit it.. I go for the oily unhealthy type of food. LOL!

My mom had the Pho Ga (230Php)
She loved it. It was her kind of thing. Hot chicken soup.. Just what the doctor orders. It was bland and my mom wants that kind of thing. She isn't that much into too much flavor filled dishes. She just added some of the add ons to make it complete.

They came with these add-ons if you will.
We also got their Ga Nuong (250Php). It was grilled chicken.
This would be perfect with rice. Juicy and grilled. The sauce was spicy and packs a punch. I loved it!

I got the Bo Luc Lac(350Php) too.
This stir fried beef is really soft and just like anyone would like their steak to be.
It came with this dipping sauce. First time for me to have something like this. LOL
The suon Nuong Xa (275Php) was underwhelming for me
This was supposedly pork riblets that were pan fried. It was a little over done for me. Suggest you skip this.

For dessert, we tried 2 of their specialties.

We had the Che Khoai Cau (135Php).
It was like bilog-bilog. It was sweet, sticky and taro based. Coconut was mixed in.
What made my day would be the  Banh Da Lon (135Php)
This warm pandan cake was filled with mung bean. It was drizzled with coconut cream. It wasn't too sweet and had the right amount of stickyness in it.

I found the meal very healthy and bland for my taste. I guess it was the sauces that makes the flavor works. I am not that familiar with this kind of cuisine so I can't really judge them. I did enjoy the service as the wait staff was very informative and thought us how to eat the different dishes.

I would suggest you go give them a try. BUT if you are a huge carnivorous and flavor hungry person, go get a pizza or a burger nearby. Yes they maybe unhealthy but they sure makes my tastes buds happy... LOL!

When you got a lot of relatives back home, it wouldn't hurt to have HD-PPV of the Manny Pacquiao-Rios Fight on .
What is better that this? It would be when you're mom is a Kampangpangan and knows how to cook. Best part multiply it by 2 since Tita is in town. LOL
Now you know why I am this big.. Yes.. I shall invoke it. My mom over feeds me! It is all her fault. LOL!

And so does my family! LOL!

Here is what we got. Guess the fishes!!!
 Another one...
Fresh shrimps jumping just before hitting the stove..
A few veggies with Buro!!! (I soooo love buro...)
Okay, what is a party without some heavy duty fried stuff.. Enough of the healthy living.. LOL!
The pulutan!!!

We got a lot of Sisig (like a bilao or 2) from Aysee. (Thanks Tita Daisy)

In case you don't know, Aysee has been open since 1986. From their original branch in Pasig, they have expand to a lot of places.

Of course, we got some things from Ana Lisa (click here). A few crispy pata and also a few head... and some chicharon bulaklak...
It was either the head or the knuckle. OMG!! SKIN Galore!.. Drool baby Drool!

Anyway.. Congrats to Manny.. and for making this good looking guy...

The funny Japanese Comics on the wall and the different panels depicting the different things one would love about their restaurant....

 and the simple wall fixtures..
 Pure genius.....
I found myself in Sm North getting my renewed PRC license (click) and looking for a hearty meal.

Went on over to the block and found this.
Yeah, they will be having new stuff in their menu...

Assisted by the staff... to a booth...

 Got my favorite appetizers.
 The potato salad....
The quantity seemed a bit smaller but tastes and quality is definitely there.

and their octopus...
Sweet and lovely. The cucumber gives it a crunch.

A side order of oysters... definitely slurpppy!

And a set of miso katsu
The meat was soft and easy to bite on... The outer layer was crunchy and light...

It came with unlimited rice (white or brown), fruits, miso and pickled veggies...
and the shredded cabbage.. with the sauces..mix and match
The service was top notch. Myra (the wait staff) took care of my every needs. She has the initiative to serve and give whatever the needs of the diner has.

When a group of my coworkers and I thought about having breakfast together...
When it comes to going to a 24 hour place to go to in the fort... only 1 place sticks in my mind...
I soooo need to recover... I need to rest and enjoy... after what happened that day...

To start my 4 day long weekend, my coworkers and I had a quick bite at RF... It was either breakfast food or early drinks at Skinny Mike's (yeah... they're open 24 hours too. click here)
We were drooling already when we saw the guy at the counter prepping the meals...
Talk about double whammy...

We got some dalandan juice...
Really great juice stuff...Citrusssyyyy

For starters, we had some cheese sticks..

Not worth the price.. better pa yung nasa UST.. :D :D :D

We also got barcino strips...
Think bacons but crunchy pork stuff... YUMMY!

I got the SST (Sweet and Spicy Tuyo)
The tuyo... is sweet and a little hot but great for me... The problem here is that I would definitely love more rice...

The rest of the gang got some tapa de morning...
According to them, the tapa was delicious. They haven't tasted tapa like that in a long time...

They also gave us some ensaladang mangga...
It went well with our breakfast... I would have wished that they served this individually like last time and not just in 1 bowl..

More than the food, it was the chika and the laughter that made the breakfast great..
